Introducing Greenville Chiropractor Dr. Landrum Williams

Greenville Chiropractor Dr. Landrum Williams

While in high school, my orthopedic surgeon told me I could have surgery or try chiropractic for my severe back pain that was limiting my ability to play football or wrestle.  I had never heard about chiropractic care, but the alternative of surgery was not attractive by any means.

I saw how much chiropractic helped to relieve my back pain and allowed me to return to competitive sports for my senior year in high school.  The amazing results that I received led me to want to help others find relief from pain or other health problems.  I simply saw how powerful chiropractic care was and wanted to share it with others.

I earned my bachelors degree from North Carolina State University and I earned my doctorate from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC.  I chose Sherman College based on its fine reputation as one of the best schools to attend to learn the true philosophy, science, and art of chiropractic.  I was being referred there by graduates of other chiropractic colleges.  While in school, gross anatomy and physiology classes had the greatest impact on my overall view of life. A thorough education on the human anatomy and function really enlightened me on how unique, complex, and amazing our bodies are.

My introduction to chiropractic care was due to a sports injury.  Ultimately I continued my education beyond my doctorate and have specialized in sports chiropractic issues.  I am one of 44 Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® currently practicing in North Carolina, and am the only active CCSP® in the (252) area code in eastern North Carolina.

My overall goal is to help people to improve their overall health through chiropractic care.  I want to share and educate people about the wonderful health benefits that can be gained with a nervous system that is working at its best.  Every person that comes to me for help receives individual consideration and care.  No two people are the same; therefore their care is not the same.  We find that patients who embrace and understand the objective of their chiropractic care receive the best and longest lasting benefits.

My wife and two children really enjoy living back in Eastern North Carolina.  I am from Wilson and my wife is from “Little” Washington.  After chiropractic school we decided to move back home to Greenville to raise our family and start my practice.

I get regular chiropractic check-ups and adjustments when my chiropractor finds misaligned vertebrae.  I check my family often as well.  They do not always need adjustments, but I give them when necessary.  My children really enjoy being adjusted and often ask me to check them.  Two of the biggest health advice tips I give my patients is to drink more water and get more sleep.  Many people think they are drinking an adequate amount of water, but ultimately they are lacking.  Water is vitally important to joint health as well as overall health.  Sleep is another area that most people take for granted.  Most, I find, are not getting "quality" sleep.  Our bodies heal while we sleep.

Dr. Williams Asks some important questions of interest to Greenville residents - Chiropractor Greenville Dr. Williams Asks...

Do nerves actually get pinched?
Chiropractors recognize two types of nerve disorders involved in vertebral subluxation. The least common is a pinched nerve that diminishes nerve supply to an affected organ or tissue. More common is the irritated nerve (facilitative lesion) which overexcites nerve communications to an affected organ or tissue. Chiropractic care has been shown to help with both types.
Would you rather feel good or be healthy?
Ask most people in Greenville and they want to feel good. Careful! Would you take medicine that makes you feel good, rather than vomit to expel improperly prepared food? Every chiropractic patient knows that you can't measure your health by how you feel. True health is when your body works as it should.
